Explore our elite selection of high-capacity cast film and specialized co-extrusion machinery, engineered for industrial production scale.
Analyzing the strategic shift from cosmetic vehicle wraps to high-durability aliphatic TPU co-extruded films to safeguard capital investments.
In the modern car rental and leasing sector, the residual value of fleet vehicles directly influences corporate profitability. Scratches, environmental etching, and stone chips slash auction resale valuations. Deploying high-grade TPU PPF acts as an invisible shield, ensuring vehicles maintain pristine OEM paint conditions.
Traditional paint repairs require cars to stay off-road for days, resulting in idle assets and revenue loss. Self-healing TPU films solve minor abrasions using ambient heat from sun exposure or hot water. Rental companies can maintain near-continuous utilization, dropping fleet maintenance cycles by up to 40%.
Low-grade PVC or aromatic TPU films suffer from early yellowing, cracking, and adhesive residue during removal. Aliphatic TPU, processed by Gwell's advanced extrusion dies, guarantees long-term optical clarity, superior UV resistance, and tensile elasticity, meeting the strict standards of Tier-1 rental operators.
Exploring the core physics and high-precision automation systems driving Gwell's premium TPU film machinery.
TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) is inherently shear-sensitive and exhibits high melt viscosity volatility. Gwell solves this challenge by incorporating specialized, closed-loop melt pumps immediately before the T-die. This ensures extremely stable pressure profiles, bringing cross-directional thickness fluctuations to less than ±1.5%.
Modern paint protection films require a complex laminate structure, combining a self-healing topcoat, a core TPU elastomer layer, and a pressure-sensitive adhesive. Our extrusion machinery supports direct co-extrusion or integrated online lamination, reducing manual lamination layers and maximizing structural adhesion between substrates.
Any surface imperfection on the casting roll instantly imprints onto the TPU film, ruining its optical clarity. Gwell incorporates mirror-polished casting rolls finished to Ra < 0.01μm. Internal spiral water channels combined with high-precision oil/water tempering units maintain constant surface temperatures within ±0.5°C.
Adapting high-performance TPU film output to diverse environmental parameters and regional target markets.
In high solar radiation zones, thermal oxidation and UV yellowing are the primary failure points for paint protection films. Extruding aliphatic TPU with specialized UV stabilizers and Hindered Amine Light Stabilizers (HALS) ensures films retain their clarity and high-gloss aesthetics even under constant desert sunlight.
Low-temperature brittleness causes inferior wraps to crack when struck by road debris. TPU film extruded on Gwell machinery maintains flexible properties down to -40°C. Excellent puncture resistance keeps the paint protected from winter gravel and corrosion caused by de-icing salts.
With narrow city streets and high-frequency usage, car rental and ride-sharing fleets suffer constant door dings and fender scrapes. A resilient, self-healing TPU protective wrap prevents physical body damage from minor collisions, reducing downtime and lowering insurance claims.

Essential engineering standards and options that B2B procurement managers must specify when investing in capital equipment.
Specify a raw material dryer and dosing unit designed for highly hygroscopic TPU resins. A moisture content under 0.02% is critical to prevent bubbles and hydrolytic degradation in the finished film.
Ensure the T-die width supports at least 1,830 mm to accommodate standard 1.52-meter wide vehicle wraps after edge trimming. Integrated thickness control systems must operate continuously.
Specify fully automatic surface-center winders featuring tension control to prevent core deformation. The roll-cutting and slitting system should run inline to minimize conversion waste.

Aliphatic TPU features a linear carbon structure that does not absorb ultraviolet wavelengths. Aromatic TPU, by contrast, contains benzene rings that degrade and yellow when exposed to sunlight. For car rental companies that need long wrap life cycles (typically 3 to 5 years), aliphatic TPU ensures the film remains optically clear and does not leave hard adhesive residues behind upon removal.
Our T-dies feature high-precision expansion bolts controlled by heating cartridges. These are linked to an online beta-ray or X-ray thickness measurement gauge. If a section of film is detected to be too thick or thin, the controller adjusts the heating current on the respective bolt. The resulting thermal expansion alters the die lip gap locally, maintaining film thickness variation within a precise ±1.5% tolerance.
TPU is highly hygroscopic and absorbs moisture from the atmosphere quickly. If you extrude wet resin, the high heat inside the barrel causes hydrolysis, breaking the polymer chains. This results in visual defect bubbles, reduced tensile strength, and lower impact resistance. Gwell includes desiccant dryers that reduce resin moisture to less than 0.02% before extrusion.
Depending on film thickness (typically 150μm to 200μm for paint protection films), our lines achieve stable mechanical run speeds between 15 to 30 meters per minute. A standard line delivers a net production output of 250 to 450 kilograms per hour, optimizing utility and resin consumption rates.
We use high-purity, optical-grade stainless steel casting rolls that undergo multi-stage super-mirror polishing. The rolls are paired with cleanroom enclosures surrounding the casting and winding zones to prevent dust settling. In addition, our multi-channel screw and barrel designs prevent polymer gels and degradation points.
